Happy new year 2021 everyone!
Long time no see and Belated Happy New Year 2021 to you guys.
I may be a little late in wishing you, but unlike my wishes, love and laughter never comes delayed to you !! May you go all well without worries, wishing you and yours safe, healthy, and prosperous whole year long.
In Japan, we separate the phrase of saying “Happy New Year” likes before and after beginning the new year. Please let me introduce the most widely used words to you as below.
We always say “Yoi otoshi wo (良いお年を)” or “Yoi otoshi wo omukae kudasai (良いお年をお迎えください)”, which it means I wish you will have a good new year until December 31th.
And when the new year begin on January 1st, we will say “Akemashite Omedeto(明けましておめでとう)”or Shinnen Omedeto (新年おめでとう)”, also you can put “Gozaimasu (ございます)” behind the words for saying in formal way. They literally mean “Happy New Year” and “ Congratulations for the New Year”.
Accordingly, if any Japanese guys said “Happy New Year” to you, you can response them by saying “Kotoshi mo Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu (今年もよろしくお願いします)” to express the wishing of a continuing good relationship for another year.
Hope you enjoy this 2021 with your families, friends and your love one.
Wish you stay safe and stay healthy through this year 😀
